Choose Your Own Creator

The Concept… The winning writers/artists will be working on self contained stories which will ultimately be collected as an anthology that will serve as a sequel to the hit graphic novel: Proximity Effect (currently in development at Universal Studios with Stephen Sommers attached to direct). Please refer to the brief synopsis below as well as the first 10 pages of the graphic novel which can be viewed here. The winning entries will be stories set either in the past or present involving other “sources” and “siphons” who have come into contact with each other and explore what happens as a result.

Proximity Effect:
Throughout history, beings of great power have walked the earth as “Siphons”, for the most part unknown and undetected. Some have become historic figures, but few knew where their powers came from. This is the story of one being, Lisa. Her power only works when she’s near Caleb, who is her “Source.” Caleb has the ability to give superhuman powers to those who are compatible and standing within 30 feet of him. This is the Proximity Effect. Sources are fare more rare than Siphons, only occurring in about one in a billion live births.

Caleb and Lisa soon find themselves on the run from an international agency tasked with eliminating any and all Sources with the hope of preventing another Hitler from rising to power. Also hot on their trail is a convent of other Siphons, the leader of which envisions himself as a living god, who wish to imprison Caleb and draw on him as a battery for their talents.
