HOW TO ENTER

First, read the concept provided by Spacedog Entertainment—Proximity Effect. Be sure to carefully review the Official Rules of the Contest (including all instructions on the submission of your writing and artwork, and the judging criterion to be used for the Contest).

Then, produce a treatment, script, cover design, character design, sequential, or other artwork related to, or depicting the elements of, the concept provided by Spacedog Entertainment, and acknowledging that your submission complies with the requirements of the Official Rules. The treatment, script and artwork are referred to herein collectively as the "Creative Materials." You will be required to sign a rights release as described herein in more detail. Keep in mind that only the person who completes the online entry form is an entrant in the Contest. Also, be sure to carefully review the judging criteria in the Official Rules before you begin work on the Creative Materials.

With respect to your treatment, character designs, script, sequential, or cover, in addition to the other requirements noted herein, you must:

- Prepare your treatment and/or script in either a Word (.doc) or PDF document (.pdf).
- Limit your Treatment's length so that it will be no less than three, and not exceed five full pages (8 in x 11 in) in a font no less than 10 points in size.
- Limit your script to equate to a 22 page comic.
- Make sure your treatment and/or script is written in English.
- Make sure the treatment and/or script adequately describes the given concept as well as the storyline and characters.

With respect to your Artwork, in addition to the other requirements noted herein, you must:

- If submitting character designs, you must submit a design for each character, uncolored or colored.
- If submitting sequential art, you must submit three full comic book pages (8 ½ x 11) depicting the elements of the first pages of the issue you are submitting for. Those script pages to which you refer may be fewer or more than three typed pages, depending on the number of panels you use in each submitted sequential page. Produce sequential art in black and white unless color artwork is more appropriate. Combine pages into an Adobe PDF document.
- If submitting a cover design, you must produce one full page, color or uncolored, which is relevant to one of the issues and equal to the size of a comic book cover (8 ½ x 11).
- Produce Cover artwork in color unless black and white artwork is more appropriate. Given your cover art is chosen, you must provide a final hi-res file that is 6.5 x 10.25 inches in size.
- Prepare all artwork in JPG file format and have a file size of no larger than 5MB. If your artwork is chosen, you will then have to submit a hi-res file.
- Make sure all artwork is as complete and in finished form as possible.

Once your treatment, script, and or art is complete, you must fill out the official online entry form in its entirety, attach your treatment, script and/or artwork to the entry as instructed, and then submit your entry as instructed on the website. Prior to submitting your entry you must agree to be bound by the Official Rules by clicking on the box indicating your acceptance. If you refuse to accept the terms and conditions of the Official Rules by clicking on such box, then you will not be allowed to enter the Contest. Your entry consists of: a) the completed entry form, b) your Writing and/Artwork, c) your acceptance of the Official Rules and d) all release forms requested (i.e. the submissions release form, to be provided at submission) (collectively referred to as your "Entry"). You submit your completed Entry by clicking on the "submit" button in accordance with the onscreen directions during the Contest Period. All Entries must be received via submission on the website by 11:59pm PST on the noted date for that round.

There is a limit of one entry per person per round. Thus, one person may submit more than one Entry but the Creative Materials for each subsequent Entry must not be related in any manner to the Creative Materials in the previous Entry. Also, in the event more than one Entry is received with respect to the same treatment, script, or artwork, only the first Entry received shall be eligible and any later Entries containing any elements related to such Creative Materials shall be disqualified. You may, however, submit an entry for different components for the same round (i.e. script and cover art, cover art and sequentials, etc.). Spacedog Entertainment shall determine whether multiple Entries are related in any manner in its sole discretion.
